Sept 27-28 is supposed to be the date of a blood moon, when the moon will appear to be red.
The "Lunatics" are once again predicting the end of the world. As usual, so make sure you get your shot right! You may not have another chance!

It was pretty red last night as it rose.

I was driving on the interstate and ALMOST stopped to take a few pictures but didn't have a long lens with me. :(

I was driving home last night as the moon was rising. A big orange ball on the horizon. It's been awhile since I've seen it that big. Unfortunately, I didn't stop to take a picture. I had my camera but was just too lazy to stop. I don't think I'll do that again. Might have another chance tonight

You would think by now people would have gotten out of their caves and understood what a lunar eclipse is.

I noticed it stayed quite orange fairly high in the sky. Just a little point of interest too. The Moon is actually no larger on the horizon than it is straight overhead. Hold a finger out, or ruler, when you see a huge Moon on the horizon and measure it. Then, when it is overhead, do it again. You will find it is exactly the same size. It is just that on the horizon you have other things to reference it too so it seems larger.

Got last year's blood moon over Union Terminal in Cincinnati. Was lucky with the weather that morning.
