Hi Thanks for responding. I use the Canon T3I. It is a upgrade camera for me. I have bought the book on directions how to use Aperture. I am still exploring it. I have the 30m day free download. I am getting Elements 10. I am not sure what it offers. I am now using Elements 8. I also downloaded the Canon software and that has the ability to edit in Raw. Again thanks it is a process for me and I appreciate all the input I can get. Have a good day.
I use Canon software for the RAW and an older version of Elements for editing. It's a good combination - perhaps not the best, but good. I don't do layers, just pretty simple editing. I'm happy with it that way.
On my Canon 20D I had to change my communication setting in the menu to PTP. After changing all went well with Raw images in Aperture.
After changing the communication setting on my Canon dslr to PTP, all went well downloading raw images to Aperture. Hope this helps.
Thanks I willo look into it.
I agree, if you're lucky to be on a MAC, iphoto is a great little program. Pixelmator is also good without having to pay photoshops exorbitant prices.
RAW camera support on Macs in built into the OSX operating system so that all programs such as Preview, iPhoto, and Aperture will be able to decode and display RAW images if your operating system is up to date. Make sure you have the latest software updates for you version of OSX.
I use Aperture for RAW and JPEGs shot with my 60D. Works quite well.
