Just down the street about 1/2 block one of our neighbors boards horses. There used to be 4 or 5 around. But this is the only one I've seen in a while.

For some reason, the enhanced pics, (bluer sky, sharpening) didn't upload...just the originals. What am I doing wrong???

I thought I was. I'll try it again. Didn't work. When I preview the shot in the file download box, it looks correct, but it doesn't post that way. I'll try something different. I'll export the pics I want to use to my desktop and try again that way. It'll be a minute or two.

I couldn't figure out how to get the sky blue without making the top of the horse's head blue too

I have always loved a horsed nose...so velvety soft! Interesting view but I think the eyes would have been more expressive but again...I do love their noses! :)

Is this a better crop of that one pic?

I've heard, don't hit the preview button. Things don't work out right. Messes up the upload.
I haven't tried as I avoid problems when I can......

I think I "accidentally" figured out how to the sky in GIMP by substituting the icky overcast sky color. It took me a few tries to figure out what series of buttons to push and slides to slide, but here's the result. Maybe I can figure out how to make a background completely black, like for a flower pic, but I'm not that competent yet. The color may look a little fakey, but it's a first attempt.

When I used to live in NW Chi-town burbs, we had a house on 5 acres, which my parents bought, partially because of the closing of my high school where my sister would have attended, and partially because she WON a horse and after a certain period of time required to board him (Charlie)(Charley?) we needed a place to keep him. After a while, my dad bought my mom one of his trail-riding partners (Ginger), so now we had a pair. (A park was discontinuing trail rides because insurance premiums were getting too high)Then one day, when my parents were in Branson at Yakov's show, my mom's answer to the question of the most unusual present got them on stage. Yakov did about a 5 minute interview/joke session with them that they have on tape. Pretty cool, if you ask me!

You need to save new files the edited versions, with another file name/type. Then post the new ones.

Yes, but I still think you can go closer with just the face. But I still like it.
