I have a collection of animated GIFs which I'd like to view automatically in a slideshow.
Can somebody recommend a GIF viewer program that works in Windows 7 to run animated GIFs as a slideshow?
Windows 7 does not have such a program, and I hear Windows 10 does not have one, either.
Thanks.
Thank you for your reply. I looked over the Web-site, but did not see a viable solution. I declined to click on the offered download button.
I found the photo viewer Faststone on my own. It offers an animated GIF viewer but so far I cannot get it to play a collection of animated GIFs automatically in a sequence.
For a good animated GIF viewer, I'd actually pay money.
Microsoft evidently does not offer such a program.

kinda what i got out of it too. no viewer.
Yes, disappointing.
Going in, I had a notion, now proved wrong, apparently, that another good soul out there would devise an animated GIF viewer that automatically played GIFs in sequence similar to a filmstrip.
I lack the skill to write my own program for this purpose.

Thanks for sticking with this effort for finding an animated GIF viewer.
The video clip showed a GIF viewer, for sure, but it played only one at at a time, as best I could tell. I can make that kind of play already with Faststone or even with Windows Explorer.
I must say Faststone is pretty capable, and it might provide a way to satisfy my need. I will try working with it more.
But I sure would like finding a dedicated GIF viewer for animated GIFs, to play them automatically in sequence.

Thank you again for helping in my hunt for an animated GIF viewer.
I reviewed the WordPress Web-site, and it seems I'd have to use WP for running animated GIFs. Maybe I will end up going this route.
Meanwhile, being a little stubborn, I still seek a downloadable, standalone animated GIF viewer for playing such GIFs.
BTW: Given the ubiquity of animated GIFs, I find myself surprised no such animated GIF viewer readily exists for this little programs.
Have a good day.

.....So then about 2.5 years later I notice that my Windows Media Player plays GIF files and will display them in a running fashion, which
is what you wanted I think.
I don't know if it is some recent feature added in an upgrade that occurs now and then on Microsoft products or if it's been there all along and I hadn't
noticed it !
Anyway, just in case you were still looking....happy viewing !
Thanks for your reply: "Windows Media Player plays GIF files." I will try this route, although I believe Windows 10 now includes a GIF viewer.
