Stationed at the Naval Base (when they had ships). On June 30, 1970 I stood in the middle of the bridge about midnight and tossed my White Hat in the water. My way to closing out 7 years in the Navy. Loved Newport, even had a daughter born there.
BTW..........that's a great shot.
