Epson 1430 vs. Canon Pro-100
I have the Canon Pro 100 and am very pleased with it.
You will find your Canon printers use less ink, if you have profiles made to suit the ink and the different papers. They are free from paper companies. The profile tells the printer how much ink to lay down on the various different papers, resulting in ink saving and far better images. I understand that profiles work for Epsom printers too.

Yeah, run away, run away! Terrible ratings for the refillable printers. No wonder they are not here in the USA yet.
The Claria ink-based printers (1400/1430, etc.) are fine. I have an RX-595 that is dying, but in its early days made incredibly detailed, accurate color prints.

Any ideas on these printers ? I've used Epson for a long time but ink has become very expensive & seemingly empty. I print 8x10 and 13x19 color often and, it seems I can get only a few before I need more (expensive) ink. These are 2 in my price range. Do I need to go higher ? My experience with off-brand inks is disastrous.
I have had the Canon for about 6 months and am very happy with it. Granted, the inks are not cheap but I seem to get good yields. I had (and still have ) an Epson but it was limited to letter size only prints and I now print many 11 X 14 hence the reason for the Canon purchase. I have had bad experiences with substitute inks on both the Epson and a previous HP so I promised myself that I would use only the Mfr's ink on the Canon. I am not disappointed with my decision. My recommendation is to go with the Canon. Hope this helps.
