Does InPixio Photo Clip work on Apple systems?
Don't see any indication that it does.

Won't iphoto remove spots?

If it is Apple compatible, it will be listed in app store as a free app.

For simple spot removal, try Inpaint. It's free.

If you have Win 7,8,10, try Photo Gallery - edit - retouch tool . It seems to work too.

Hi ecar

Had a look at this link and app looks interesting - I already have Topaz Remask but do not find it ideal - do you know if inpixio is a better buy?

No, I don't. From the ad's, it looks like a great product, and they have several different photo editing programs. Advanquest seems to be a good software company though.

I'm using an old photoshop program, that doesn't always work, so I've been looking around.

Faststone Image Viewer can take care of those spots with it's healing or clone brush.
This program is easy to use and can do a lot of things. I have been using it for years. Others on here use it too.
For a beginner in digital photography I highly recommend it.
When you gain more experience then you can move on to other programs, like Lightroom and Photoshop.
And best of all, it's FREE.
Just go to www.faststone.org to download. It is at the top of the download list.

will

I second Fast Stone for full screen viewing, many features, ease of use and I would add Picasa for organizing and tags/keywording. Note: I am on the learning curve in Lightroom CC but will be 'adding' FastStone as my vetting 1st step (because of the full screen view feature and ease of setting horizontal level) ... followed by importing into Lightroom and moving forward from there. If I am shooting just JPEG ... edit in FastStone. (Note 2: FastStone can view RAW files)

You know the more I study that black spot, I am more inclined to believe it is a piece of black or dark blue lint. I cannot imagine how that would find its way onto the sensor. At any rate, I am more cautious when removing the body cap and inserting a lens. Testing one or two shots before leaving would be a good idea.

Thanks again,

Tonytee

there is probably a photo program on your computer already that you can use...
Mac or PC?
where do your photos download to?

A couple of days ago, my wife and I took a drive to the Oregon Coast. A truly beautiful day with awesome views to photo. I used my Nikon D70 camera with an AF Nikkor 70~210 non-D lens. Of course, it was so sunny, I could not preview the flicks and so just continued to shoot. Lo' and behold, when I transferred the pics to my computer, I could not believe my eyes. Right smack dab in the middle of every shot, was a black spot. Well, my research told me it was dust on the sensor. I cleaned as per instructions, and everything is fine now. My question is, since I am new to digital photography I would like to know if any of the post photo software is capable of erasing the spot. If so, what is put in its place on the photo? A lesson to be learned. Check the test photos before going on a shoot. Thanks for any assistance offered.

Hello,

I do have Windows Vista Home Premium. I did find the section of Windows that will allow me to change some images, only going from color to black & white. They are as ugly as a mud fence. At this point I have all of my photos stored in folders in date order. I need to get them into files. Thanks very much.

Don't mean to be rude here but, it's obvious that you don't understand computers very well - based on your comment. Windows doesn't allow you to change "some images" and your photos are already "files".

Windows is nothing more than the operating system that in turn runs programs on the machine it is installed on. Microsoft included an assortment of "programs" to allow you to do different things... one of which would be to view and/or edit photos..

EVERYTHING stored on the computer IS a FILE. You don't store pictures in a file. You store them in file FOLDERS. At this point it's anyone's guess what you mean by "you need you get them into files". There are many "programs" out there that will allow you to view/edit you photos the most popular one right now is Lightroom by Adobe which can organize (which is what it sounds like you need) your photos as well as allow you to edit them, print them and/or post them to the internet. BUT, for someone who doesn't understand the computer, this program - as well as many others - will not only have a steep learning curve but, if not used properly will give you a huge headache later on.

It would be in your best interest to get someone local to sit down with you and help you out. You should go to your local library and see if they have any computer classes.
