If you actually want comments / critques you may want to specify, as some will not do so at the risk of offfering what was not wanted. If the posting is just a general display as to what you are up to, then they are nice, good luck & thanks for sharing.

Of course, to each their own eye candy. I took the liberty of taking Bee 2 and crop, color boost, hue shift and sharpen. PSE10 and Topaz 4. The Bee is the story, not all the out of DOF background.

Another approach is to do the above, then re-mask/layers the bee and over lay on the vegetation as you have it, since the bee benefited from sharpening etc, but vegetation did not.

And for your EGO, great shot, tight on subject, good focus. Not helpful, but nice for viewers is to add info on camera, lens, and f/s.

Yes,Lacedghost, it was easy for me... WHY?!... because it was YOUR photo and not mine. The first year I was with the CClub, my photos were fantastic,,, but got low points, because only I thought they were fantastic!

In an attempt to get back at those fool judges, I asked a hard question for them.. why did mine only get 12 points while another got 22? OUCH, they told me.. after that start, they now cartique all photos. The points in the club submissions have risen sharply. AND I made 3rd place last year. Hay, off subject, how do you make a great cake? Correct, you follow a receipt. Oh, not off subject, you do the same with you photos. MAKE A LIST AND SCORE YOUR OWN.
1. What is the story you are telling... in this case a Bee.

2. Is is good enough to work with ... Yep your Bee and flower is. A rule I fail, but need to follow, print the untouched photo in 8x10,, move a crop mask or just use paper to visually crop, once decided, use a marker to circle and comment on areas that need to be cloned out or changed in some way. I waste so much time because I do not do this and just dive in.

3. Is the fuzz sharp, no, sharpen.

4. People like spice and color, so jump the saturation

5. OK got that stuff done, now hold up your hands to limit your vision .. aaaha,,, crop there. follow rule of 1/3 use the PSE grid. The dark spot on the back is dead on 1/3 1/3.

6. Adjust prospective: Better inverted or 90 degrees..

All of these become a lot easier with Topaz Adjust and Re-mask. You get discount on price if you watch a webenar.

Thank You so very much for forcing me to think out how I should be doing my-own work more systematically.

I think your tulip is fantastic. All elements in line---composition,color saturation,DOF, and sharpness. Thanks for sharing it with us.

LOVE the tulip. Not so keen on insects though. They give me the heebie jeebies.
