Did you ever get to see Elvis?
From the internet: In Germany Elvis Presley was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Armor Regiment, 3rd Armored Division, Ray Barracks, Friedberg. Elvis served with the Division from October 1, 1958 to March 1, 1960.
I've been to Germany many times, but always as a civilian. Spent a lot of time around Weinheim and Heidelberg but explored all over.
I travel to Bavaria just about every summer for vacation. In fact, I will be taking a trip over there next week. Usually I bring two cameras with me - a compact digital camera, as well as one of my film cameras. This year, my film camera of choice will be a Canonet QL17 GIII, which I've recently purchased at a flea market for a few dollars and then successfully restored to fully working condition. I'm quite excited.

I was stationed at Det 8, 601st TCS from 1967-1970. Support base was Sembach AFB and the site was near Fishbach. One day I'd like to go back as a civilian! Lot of really beautiful thing's over there.
