49 years old from Sydney Australia. Have just purchased a Sony NEX-5N and I'm really looking forward to finding out how to use it. Have had some success with random iphone 4s photos and decided to step it up a bit. Expect a lot of shots of Chihuahuas and my knotting work. I have ABSOLUTELY no knowledge of even the basics in photography at this point, and I'm excited about finding out. Have attached a couple of pics from the new camera, and look forward to working out proper depth of feild to get better results. Currently waiting on a macro lens and just taking pot luck with the shots at the moment.
Iggy Pup on the left, His sister Juno on the right. She spotted the gap.
My most recent knotting effort. 96 meteres of whipping twine knotted around a golf ball
A closer shot of the 32 strand oblong solid sinnet tied into a 96 facet globe knot around a golf ball. Only for the aesthetics... knotting for knotting's sake.
M
Laidies and Gentlemen... Iggy has left the building!
With Juno not far behind
Juno coming in fast! Will be happier when I sort the depth of field etc... but I'm happy with the capture of the movement.
The kids levitating on the garden path.
Quite pleased given this was my first attempt at catching a jumping Chihuaha shot.
Last of the white flowers on the trellis. My first attempt at some close ups. working with an SEL 18-200 lens. Can't wait for the Macro lens to turn up.
:)
Lucky last. Juno looking back after the soft toy kill in the back garden. Bodies everywhere!

Hi there! Welcome to the forum! Nice bokeh in the floral shots of your second post. Love that.
I also thank you for the giggle this morning. You see, I can't knit to save my soul, but I can create the most intricate knots with knitting needles --- which I call "knotting" before I toss them into the bin.
I see now there actually IS such a thing as knotting, so I'll have to find something else to call my creations so not to confuse with your beautiful objects.
A new lesson learned here. I was not familar with the term Sinnet, which I could not find in two different dictionaries. Finally in a very large volume, I found Sinnet meaning the same as Sennet, which then gave me the deffinition.
I once made a monkey ball, but I would never do what you are doing with all the strands of braid.
Welcome to UHH.
Thanks AVarley. I had a spell of knitting myself. I had some success, but a lot of knotted bin work as well :) Good work on the link by the way!
