We had the most fun while vacationing in Montana when we came across the beaver. He was busy building a huge dam and afterwards eating. For me it was the first time that I actually seen one. He didn't seem to be bothered by our presents.

nice shots. Usually I'm used to see the head at the surface. Don't think I ever seen one like this :)

well done :)

Sorry not so wild, the beaver!!! When you take your time to approach them slowly, they don't take care of your presence. I have thousands of photos, some taken at a distance of less than 3 feet. A lot more active during autumn time, when they work almost 24 hours a day to gather enough branches to pass the winter without too much problems of food.

Thank you! The water they were swimming in was so murky, that didn't help much.

This particular beaver seemed to be very content, our presence didn't bother him, we remained very quiet.

That's very interesting info, I know very little about beavers, I was just so thrilled since I have never seen one. The water he was swimming in was kinda murky, couldn't really get the best quality of images, and then we only had limited time to spend with him.

Thanks so much Ringo! I was so thrilled when I spotted him, if I would have had the time I would have spend a day with him.
