Plane Grounded because of iPad Error

In an effort to save over $1 million in fuel every year, airlines are using iPads, rather than lug 35 pounds of books along with them. Surprisingly, it seems that electronics can sometimes have problems. There was a software glitch because Reagan airport was listed twice, and the iPad computer didn't like that.

Wrong, any saving in fuel is a positive bye product of iPad use.
My Grandson is a BA pilot and was recently showing me the iPad his company issued to him. The main advantages involve greater speed and efficiency of flight planning resulting in far less flight delays and problems with scheduling. He clearly appreciates not having to carry loads of heavy documents and cases with him between flights as well. However efficiency and some safety aspects too are the main reasons for iPad use and any fuel saving is just an added bonus.
