Airplane Food - True Story

Airborne approximately thirty minutes on an outbound evening flight from Heathrow, the lead flight attendant nervously made the following painful announcement..:

"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm so very sorry but it appears that there has been a terrible mix up by our airport catering service... I don't know how this has happened but we have 163 passengers on board and, unfortunately, only 40 dinner meals... I truly apologize for this mistake and inconvenience.”

When passengers' muttering had died down, she continued.. ,

"Anyone who is kind enough to give up their meal so that someone else can eat will receive free, unlimited drinks for the duration of our 5 hour flight.”

Her next announcement came about 90 minutes later... "If anyone would like to change their minds, we still have 40 dinners available."

Airline food has changed quit a lot over the years. Frontier Denver to Dallas dinner flights use to serve stake and lobster with Mateus wine loved those flights.

Our last flight in July to Belgium, we paid approx. $100 for upgrade to comfort class on JetAir Fly which flies twice a week to Brussels out of Miami.
Very affordable:
1. Delta Airlines $2616.00
2. JetAir Fly at $254 Euro or $277.00

Upgrade is recommended for lots of space, free booze and great meals with real silverware with appetizer, meal and desert.

On our SAS flight back from Copenhagen we had a great meal.

We were seated in SAS +.
It's has more leg room than coach but maybe not as much as business class.

The only flight, I've had, that was "better" was when I was upgraded to 1st Class on a Virgin Atlantic flight to London.

One time I was flying from London to Lagos, Nigeria on a 747.
I was sitting with three Scots. As soon as the seat belt light went off one of them ordered three whiskeys, as soon as they had finished those they ordered three more. This went on for the six and a half hour flight. I asked one of them why they were drinking so much. The guy replied that they worked on an American Oil Exploration ship, which was "dry", so they were topping up before reaching it.
I decided to watch them once we had landed, to see how steady they walked. I was astounded to see them walk as straight as an arrow. Had that been me they would have had to carry me off.
