Christian Photography?

What, exactly, is Christian Photography? Photos of God or of Jesus Christ? Stained glass windows? Churches, steeples, or crosses?

I'm sure the folks who approved this forum on UHH realized that there would be very little photography involved and that the majority of posts would be links to other websites, pleas for prayer, and various other Christian subjects.

So far this has proven to be true. So why not take this forum and make it a place where we can come together to interact with our Christian friends and share our thoughts and ideas?

I'm going to attempt to get the ball rolling with a book that was sent to me over the Christmas holidays titled "The Case for Christmas". It's the true story of an atheist investigative journalist who set out to disprove the existence of God by examining the archeological evidence. To make a long story short, he ended up accepting Jesus Christ and writing the book.

I have ordered several copies of the book and would like to offer them to my Christian friends here at no charge. It's a short book, 96 pages, and can be read and thoroughly digested in about 3-4 hours. It's a really great read. If I need more copies, I know where to get them.

To order your copy, just PM me.

I don't frequent this forum much, but I do mission work twice a year in Kenya. The different forums each have a "mission statement" and my understanding is they want to use their photography to glorify God in this one. The author is Lee Strobel and his first book was the Case for Christ, probably 10 years ago, in which he first did what you describe. He also has books called the Case for Faith and the Case for Easter. There are movies based on his books, I teach a Sunday school and my class liked them. Glad you thoughtfully offered this to the group.

Thanks, Mr. PC. Anyone interested can simply google "The Case for Christmas". There is quite a bit of feedback on these books if one cares to check them out.

God's picture... or Jesus' picture would be awesome... but I don't think that's going to happen... I am a christian writer who uses photography to illustrate Biblical principles and who writes a daily devotional in a socratic way, so people can come and relate to the Bible on a daily basis in a practical way. My mantra is what does the verses looks like?... meaning how do we apply them. I am not sure if I can share one of them here, so you could get the idea.

But the work includes an image of something that we can find while walking down the street anywhere...
I am glad that I found this forum and would keep on coming back every day to check what my fellows hh are doing.

Peace to you all. jro

Hmmm interesting thread. I'd have to say that Christian photography would be photos that promote the Gospel. I'll have to check out "The Case for Christmas". I have two other Lee Strobel books; The Case for Christ and The Case for a Creator. Thanks for making me aware of this one. In my opinion Strobel is a good writer. To me that means he is in depth but keeps the language simple.

Blessings

There probably is not a lot of difference in Strobel's other books, but it you would like a copy of "The Case for Christmas", just PM me with your name and address and I'll send you one
