Most state universities. I would stay away from for profit schools because they are expensive.

Ernie, as Darkroom has said, many of the junior colleges and four year shools have excellent programs.
The 4year schools have BFA programs and beyond and the two year schools offer certificated programs with transferable units.
The big Art schools are also cutting edge such as the schools in NY, LA and places like the Rhode Island School of Design.
The San Francisco Art Institute's photography dept. was started by Ansel Adams and its faculty has read like a Whos Who in photography.
These programs are serious time commitments and are designed to produce cutting edge pros!! Sure you want to be one of those?!?!
Ernie, good luck! ;-)

I was given the link below, copy & paste it into your browser. I haven't used it but it did look interesting and could be a good avenue. Good luck.

Yeah, when you do sell something, provide a service, make sure you don't make a profit.

collage

Collage
1 a : an artistic composition made of various materials (as paper, cloth, or wood) glued on a surface
b : a creative work that resembles such a composition in incorporating various materials or elements <the album is a collage of several musical styles>

I think it would be pretty hard to attend a collage. ;)

My thoughts too. Maybe a GED first.

Not what I meant. All schools should a profit. That's what keeps them open. The schools I am describing are like the Art Institutes and Brooks Institute. They cost over $80,000 generally and the education doesn't always match what the student paid for. We are talking art school here. The jobs available in photography will make it difficult to pay off that amount of debt.

Ahh, com'n Darkroom!
The diploma mills are the wave of the future??!!
Want an MBA, or a PhD so you can retire with the highest possible pension, just go to the diploma mill. There is one next to the 7-11 on the next corner!!!
EVERYBODY has an MBA now. AND you can get it in just a few hours in the evening in just a year!!! Just right for the busy professional that doesn't have what it takes to get through a REAL school!!
Get them while their still HOT!!!!

Grad-school is a bit different because with assistantships it doesn't cost too much. I plan on going to grad-school in the next 3 years in order to get an MFA because I want to teach college. I plan on paying back all of my student loans before then.

I was pretty much accepted to Brooks Institute but I turned them down because I could not afford it and their job placement was bull. They were sued and lost of over it. Not worth the risk to me
