This sunflower beauty is a "volunteer" from seeds dropped below a bird feeder. It is a massive 12 inches in diameter and weighs several pounds. But it is not close to a record. The record is over 30 feet tall and 31 inches in diameter, held by a guy in Germany, who grows a new record evey year. He's had to build a scaffold next to it to prop it up. I plan to harvest the seeds, replant them in the spring and see what happens. Who knows, maybe I will be able to justify a new really good wide angle.
