Centering Ruler

I saw something on TV yesterday that I had never heard of: a centering ruler. Very clever idea. Rather than buy one, I could make one by attaching two rulers end to end on a strip of wood.

Why do that when you can lay a ruler on what you are trying to find the center of, and put an even number on the edge turn the ruler until the other edge has an even number. The center will be the half way mark between the two edges.

I didn't even checked the link, because I don't get it. You just take a measurement of the full length, and in a half second or less (split second) you know the center in your head and then you just make a mark. Nothing simpler than that!!

Not only do they have centering rulers, there are also centering tape measures. Both are handy little devices for woodworkers.
