Question about SX 50 HS refurb.
I have a Nikon D7200 and use a refurbed SX-50 as a backup. By comparison, the SX-50 EVF stinks. But for $179, what do you want? Previous suggestions to trust the autofocus and/or use the Live View screen seem pretty appropriate to me. It's a great little camera for what it is. It has incredible reach and good image quality at a distance that I can't duplicate with my "big gun". Good luck.

Every so often, usually around a holiday, Canon Store puts them on sale, last one ended July 5. I believe you can go there and signup for e-mails notices from them.
You have to trust the auto focus which is very good.

You got you a good deal with the price with the SX 50, I've had mine for a year & a half & it does good for me.
as for the diopter device, its a slight problem, you should download the manual on your computer & look up on how to use it.
Good luck in using your SX 50, despite it being refurbished it should do very good for you
