Thanks, Jake,
Great pix of a great car. I built the first Model A in Seattle with a V-8 and hydraulic brakes (1942) With a CDL in the family I also understand JakeBrakes. I was a car nut before I was a Camera nut. Rufe
Tell what jakebrake is. There used to be street signs in Duluth, MN about No Jakebraking and I always wondered.

Stumbled on a small car show, in the small town of Frederick, Colorado, and saw this fine looking hot rod and I actually had my camera with me.
These shots are SOOC with the exception of a crop on the information panel.
This is one of the coolest cars I have seen in a long time. Pardon the soft focus on the interior as I didn't notice it until I got home.

Thanks jimmya. I reviewed the images in my display but with the bright sun, even in the shade I didn't realize the softness in that one shot.

A Jakebreak is a breaking system used on heavy trucks to reduce wear on conventional friction brakes. It uses the engine compression, rolling downhill, to provide a retarding force by allowing compressed gases in the cylinders to escape into the atmosphere before the next cycle of the engine. Each release of the compressed gas makes a very loud sound which is why, in populated areas, there are signs saying "No compression braking allowed", meaning no Jakebrake,or the equivalent. CDL refers to Commercial Driver License.
Very good shots, Michael! I used to date a guy who drove a Willys..many, many moons ago! :)

An absolutely perfect definition of a jakebrake. You can always tell a rookie driver as they are the ones using them in cities or going uphill! During my 42+ years as a professional driver I never even contemplated turning my jake on unless I was on a downgrade of at least 2%.
Thanks for the definition.
