After following Searcher's instructions you can click on the + sign beside Template browser and save this as your template for future printing. Then all you have to do is click on the template that you created and it brings all your settings up. Very easy.

You may find it convenient to create templates for 4x6 Landscape, 4x6 Portrait, and any other sizes you want to print. The templates can include other settings such as paper type, etc. That way all you need to do is select both the image and the printing template and away you go.

I have had this same problem so much while printing from LR that I finally quit and simply print from Windows. What's interesting is that when I compare a print from LR and a print of the same image from Windows, they don't match, and I normally like the Windows print better. But I guess that's a side issue to the OP's question.

Thanks AzPicLady. Thats interesting that you say that about the two different ways of printing. I will have to check that out and see if I see a difference.

As far as I know, if you print from Windows, the printer manages the colour and not any profiles from software. I certainly don't knock "Printer managed printing", lots of people use it and get good prints.

If you print from software such as Lightroom or Photoshop, there are choices, sometimes too many choices for comfort, and there will usually be a difference between "Software managed" and "Printer Managed" output. Throw in ICC profiles, (which are simple to use once you know which buttons to press) and the user choices can become quite difficult.

I advocate finding a way that gives you what you want, then generally sticking to it.

if you use an icc profile matched with your printer, the paper of your choice and your ink the results can be outstanding, far better than just printing normally. As a profile matched with everything else, eliminates over inking, prevents bronzing and ensures more prints are obtained from your ink that a non profiled printer will produce. Most quality paper manufacturers/ retailers will profile your printer for free if you buy their paper. Buy a test pack get some profiles done and the world of quality printing will be available to you. The only question remaining will be, which paper do I use for which type of image. I use Fotospeed papers and profiles from www.fotospeed.com

Hello,

I have an Epson R3000 and the option is set for no border bit it looks like the settings attached override this as i still get a border. I cant seem to change these setting.

When you say you can't override the settings, do you mean you cannot move the margins to zero and the cell size sliders further to the right?

I hope Searcher can figure this out for you.

Here is a screenshot of my computer which is very much like yours, with LR and set up for borderless 4x6 on the r3000, in case that helps...
