Digi cam control is a tether program for Nikon cameras.
It works fine on my PC
I really needed it to work on my laptop.
The laptop is running Vista ( dont laugh)

when I run the pgm in tether mode I get icons
and not pictures

Has anyone used this software and can
help with Vista ?
thanks

It probably won't work with Vista.

According to Digicam, Windows XP, Vista, 7 (32 or 64 bit), 8 (32 or 64 bit), are all supported. Since it is OpenSource, I'd email the developers. I've found authors of OpenSource software have generally been helpful.

PS Forgot to mention, you also need Microsoft .NET Framework 4 &
Microsoft Camera Codec Pack installed. Not all versions of the same OS come with these pre-installed, or updated. You may want to check this out, too.

That .NET can really be a pain-in-the-?. I had one laptop that had three versions of .NET and I couldn't consolidate any of them, the programs I had needed specific versions.

I just read this DigicamControl Thread. I've been looking for this software on and off since I bought the D5300. I have the Nikon software on my tablet, but could get to work on the Lap Top.

Down Loaded it to give it a try. I'm impressed, I could even change the capture type between RAW and JPEG. Set focus points. About the only thing I couldn't do from the PC was point it and Zoom. That will be next. I'll but some of that RC stuff I have to use.

Vista??
I wasted the best part of a day trying to reinstall Vista on a laptop that came with Vista. The original Hard drive went bad so I figured I'd replace it with another I had that I'd salvaged from a laptop with a bad MOBO.
So, remember, Vista doesn't even work with Vista!!!!
Install Windows 7.
