Nikon ME-W1 Bluetooth Mic/Receiver

Does anyone know anything about the new wireless mic coming out soon?

Both the mic and receiver clip on (form the pics) and the specs say I can use my ME-1 as a plug in to record stereo, but I can't imagine how the ME-1 is going to hang from someone's shirt collar.

Any ideas?

Wireless mic's have been around for years, called Lavalier, or Lav's for short. I have two of them. They are two pieces, the receiver goes onto the hot shoe, and the wireless mic attaches to someone belt or pants and has a wired mic from there that attaches to their shirt or collar.

You can use a boom or shotgun mic as a second audio source.

I have a lavalier set - (have two actually). But this set is different, both the mic AND the receiver are clip on - no hot shoe attachment. It looks like it connects to the camera via cable only.

Interestingly, both the mic and the receiver have a microphone, so the photographer and the subject can be recorded and/or speak with each other via a headset.

Just wondering if anyone knows how one would use the ME-1 (stereo) mic with this set.

Interesting I have not heard of these, but my guess is the receiver (also has a mic) must have an imput port for a shotgun mic. But you peaked my interest, I'm going to see if I can find a little more info on these.

Believe it or not, Nikon have published very little information on what looks like an intriguing accessory.

They don't even have the product manual uploaded yet. If you can find out any more, I'd be very interested.

I see these at B&H, they are pretty good when I talk with them. I just don't have time to talk to them today.
