Do you need to have all the previous versions of Lightroom before downloading Lightroom 6?
No, it's a stand alone product. Have fun. Ed
Thanks. I really appreciate the reply & thoroughly enjoy the forum.

If you do not subscribe to the Creative Cloud, and are downloading the Lightroom Update from Adobe, then it expects to find Lightroom installed on your machine. If you are downloading the full version (not the update), then it will install as a new application.
I am pretty sure the only difference between full Lr and the update is the pricing when you go to purchase. The download file is the same. The update will look for and installed version. If it doesn't find one it will ask for the serial number of the full-price version that you purchased. All your S/Ns are available from he Adobe site.
If you are purchasing Lr for the first time it will ask you for the S/N Adobe gave you or let you trial it for 30days.

You need the previous version only if you're doing an update because it will look for it. If it doesn't find it, you will have to enter the number from the previous version.
However, I might be thinking about a different program.

I think that the CC version of LR6 has a "dehaze" action that the stand alone version does not have.
