It works seamlessly with LR. The Elite Edition has the Prime noise reduction feature, which does a fantastic job of removing noise with very little loss of detail. It's much better than LR and Topaz DeNoise IMHO. There is also the clear view and DXO lighting tool. As far as cons, I haven't found any yet. It also contains modules for most camera and lens combinations for correction purposes. I use it with LR and it's a good combination.
You can download the trial version, and currently it is $50 off @ B&H.

Bob, it works seamlessly with Lightroom 5.X but not with 6 or CC. The plugin that provided a nice and easy migration from LR to DXO and back is not functioning. DXO is aware and working on a new release that works like it used to with LR5. Can't wait - I use both and got spoiled by the convenience.

As far as the OP's question, they provide different rendering of raw files. Each one has its pluses and minuses - and each one has a free, unlimited one month trial. So rather than repeat many of the comparisions, it's probably best for the OP to download both and see what works best for him.

Gene, I thought they fixed that with the latest update.
Can't beat that Prime noise reduction.

We have to wait until 10.5 I'm afraid. Ditto on Prime. :)

I recently downloaded the 30-day trial version and have used it with LR CC. No issues moving back and forth between the two programs, so it appears they must have fixed that bug.

Are you using the DXO Plugin for LR?

[edit] actually thanks to your post, I found out that DXO Optics Pro 10 released a new version 10.4.1 which has the plugin and recognizes LR6/CC.

Thanks again!

I use them both in sequence. DxO first where I have do denoise, correction of lens distortion, vignette correction and chromatic aberrations. No tweaking, just the default auto settings. Everything else is disabled. I do this in bulk for an entire batch of images. (Once in blue moon I use one of the other adjustments for a specific image.) Then I export the results to Lightroom in DNG format.

In Lightroom, DNGs I now have will be free of any of the problems corrected by DxO. I can now concentrate on any adjustments for WB, exposure, contrast, saturation etc. Also any cropping, brush or gradient adjustments, spot removal etc etc.

In general, the tasks I assign to DxO are the ones it can do far better while those done in Lightroom are those where Lightroom excels.

Note: I'm transitioning to Fuji and DxO does not suport Fuji X-tran. This would a bummer except that Fuji lenses appear to have few of the concerns DxO corrects.

With the Lightroom plugin, you can simplify things a little bit. Import into LR, then use the Plugin Extras option in the File menu, or if you are in the Library Module, it is also in the Library command, to pass the naked raw file to DXO - when finished, DXO will export the file(s) as dng, adding them to the catalog at the same time.

I would write to DXO and let them know about the Fuji. Eventually they will respond with a version that will support it.

I use both and am happy with both. I think where LR "beats" Optics Pro is in the exposure sliders. If you bring down the highlight slider in optics pro, in my experience it seems to "muddy" the image whereas in LR that isn't the case. Aside from that, I don't really see any fault worth mentioning.
