This is my first attempt at using the Feature "Bulb" on my Canon 550d . It was open for 35 seconds quite pleased with result. Looking for help here. I will be on a cruise through Europe later this year, travel is at night .How do I get this type of photo on a ship going at a fair pace ,or is it not possible .Thanks for any comment or information as I am very new to photography.

I'm thinking that using the bulb function while moving is going to create a blurred shot. If you were REALLY REALLY good, you could move the camera as you would in an action shot, but at 35 seconds - I'm thinking no way.

You might be able to pull it off for like a 1-second shot. But you also have to account for off-axis movement caused by whatever transportation you are on, be it car, boat, train, etc. (bumps, waves, sway, etc)

But you'll never know unless you try. Push up the ISO to as high as you can, or until you reach you're grain-tolerance. Open the aperture - try to get as much light as fast as you can. Being hand held while standing may help compensate for vehicle induced off axis movement.
