I don't have a 85mm for sale, but do recommend the internal focus model if you decide to get one. Much better quality than the new G model.

My friend has the newer G model, as far as we can tell it does focus faster and quieter than my D model. As far as built quality and sharpness the D model seems a little better. What are you planning on using the lens for.

Portraits mostly. I am buying a 35mmG for parties, events, etc and everyday walk around. Currently have 18-55 and 55-300.

The G model is definitely more up to date and cost a little more. Also more plastic material use in its construction.
If you want a better portrait lens, I use a 135mm DC. There's nothing better. I use it most of the time for models.

Royce,

I agreed the 135mm DC is not cheap, but its awesome for portrait shots!

I will get to that lens soon but for now just starting pro so for now I just want a lens combo that i can afford to get best results. Do plan to get 35mm for close quarters and a portrait lens to use with limited space so I'm thinking 50mm.

Or slightly less expensive, a used 105 DC from KEH, paid less than $1K for mine (LN-), about a year ago (right now they have them listed for $792 - $849, EX - LN- ). The 135mm DC is there, also, for $919 - $1035...
