There is a sunset thread so let's do a moon one. Here are a couple of my favorites. Your thoughts?
Moonrise in Northern Minnesota
Moon Over Five Point Lake
Moon over Mississippi River in St. Paul
Last time I "shot the moon", the people in the other cars on the hiway just pointed and laughed...
Last time I "shot the moon" I was playing pinochle. lol
I really like the clouds in the last one. The horizon needs to be leveled, though.
Looking for the Man-in-the-moon
Interestingly my best moon shot wasn't at night but shortly after sunrise in the horizon. It didn't hurt to have the Columbia River Gorge and a train tunnel in the frame either. :)
Sunrise Moon
Here's a Harvest Moon shot a few years ago when I was just getting used to my new camea. No tripod, and didn't know how to change the settings.
Tried something I read on the net. 320 shutter 300mm lens saturation was boosted in pp came out pretty nice.
the big cheese
Prosser Washington Balloon Rally
Balloonist attempts moon landing
I was in Yosemite in June and was hoping for a nice red sunset on Half Dome. That never panned out, but I got this sunset panorama with the moon instead.
Sorry it's sideways, but 600 pix wide was too small.
Some very nice moon pics posted so far.
From last month on the 16th in IR.
The original, then processed in B&W and re-sized.

How did you get the moon and the leaves in focus? It seems I have a choice of one or the other, or to take it into pse and merge two pictures.

Um, the leaves look out of focus to me, but a small aperture helps, mine was set at 3.5 but next time I'll try 8.0, which is as small as mine gets on that camera.

I guess I should have said more in focus, mine just disappear if the moon is in focus.
