I guess that should be 'Think Before You Reach'! I supervise bus mechanics for the local transit authority (Dallas, TX) in a shop that was built in 1963. (I.E - I herd cats for D.A.R.T.) The building has had a major remodeling twice but for some reason the machine shop has never been touched except for needed equipment replacement over the years. Needless to say safety parameters in the 60's were quite a bit different. This sign is next to a bench press that quite literally almost removed a thumb from one of my guys almost 17 years ago.... The sign it's self is at least 30 years old to my knowledge.... ( I did 'grunge' it up a bit....)
I love old signs and they phraseology used! Very cool! Next time I ride D.A.R.T. I will think of you my friend.

Thanks... the guy who made the sign was / is a very talented artist - cartoonist... He's retired but his stuff is still all over the shop.....

He could have drawn a comic strip with the style I see here!
That's really a neat sign, and you captured it well, ajohnston3!

He could do a quick caricature of a fellow employee in a couple of minutes capturing the pith of a trait or situation. He also did sketches of upper management that were NOT suitable for posting or publication..... :)

Thanks.... I ought to do a series.... We have 50+ years of signs of every sort you might see in an industrial setting (bus shop) where I work....
