Mill Series, #5 - The Old Mill

The Old Mill is in T.R. Pugh Memorial Park in North Little Rock, AR. I had seen a photo of this mill posted on the "Hog" quite a while back and thought it looked kind of gaudy. Now, I know why.

It was never actually a working mill. It was created in 1933 to represent what a mill looked like. It was done in Faux Boi (fake wood), basically cement formed to look like wood by Dionicio Rodriguez, a noted Mexican sculptor.

It was also used in the opening credits of the movie "Gone With The Wind". It is in a beautiful park setting as you can see.

Nice captures... Looks like a really neat place to shoot. Bet it really shines in the Fall with all the leaf color changes...

Nice set. Dang, been to North Little Rock many times and I never knew this was there. I've always been there on military time tho, not a lot of time for sight seeing.
