Canon 7d error messages

I am getting some strange error messages on my 7d. It displays a 96 or sometimes a 91? In auto mode it displays 70! I know what the 70 means, but curious as to the other codes? I obviously have some issues with my camera sending info to the cf card! Camera seems to be working fine? Anyone out there got any ideas?

Try a different CF card ? or a different lens.

Also, use a new battery making sure it is fully charged.

You may want to clean the contacts between lens and camera body.

Use the latest Firmware updates too.

and let us know what happens.

I get a error message periodically with my old 7D. The problem is easily solved by removing the battery momentarily. I have discovered the problem occurs mostly when I shoot several high speed shots in succession. I have had the camera for 7 years. It started having this problem about 2 years ago. Still a great camera. I use it alot on a daily basis.

I don't know about those, as there is no Error code for a full card. It just says >full card<!

I agree with St3v3M. Try another card and pull and clean the lens contacts - but very gently with no liquids only your lens cleaning cloth.

I would do all the above mentioned remedies, but I'd go one step further, change the button battery. Sometimes this battery fails, and it will effect all sorts of programs in the camera. One other thing, set the camera back to default settings. Take the camera to any camera store, and mount a lens from the stores inventory to check for the errors. If the errors still appear, send the camera to Canon for test and check, and a repair estimate. Some times just a cleaning on such a older body will do wonders.
