I saw a lot of Eagles today but this was the best I could come up with. Thought I would share it.
Love the shot. I would like to see the limb coming out of his throat removed. Just my thought.
I think you are so right....I can do that and I will. I'll repost later. Thanks!!

Great shot of a two year old Eagle. You can tell because of the beginning of a dark eye stripe, the white mottling on the breast and the dark bill that is starting to lighten at the base. If it was a 3rd year bird the bill would have started to turn yellow and the eye stripe would be very prominent. Eagles take up to 5 years to get the white head and tail.

nice shot, thanks for sharing
Since you appear to be quite expert at Eagles perhaps you can help me with a question. Our (Boise, ID) zoo has two bald eagles. Both have white beaks.
Any idea what that is about?

White, Yellow. Dark . still great birds of prey, nice to see in the wild or in a zoo love what they stand for POWER and they sure do have it. My wife and I were heading home a few months ago and there on the side of the road in the ditch was a Bald Eagle feasting on the carcass of a deer,my wife saw it and by the time I had turned around to get a few shots the eagle felt his eating was not a spectator sport and he took of into a pretty thick group of trees,Well we didn't get any thing but the joy of seeing the big fellow.

I don't know why an Eagle would have a white beak. Perhaps it's diet related. I'll ask around and see if I can come up with something.
Great photo of the juvie!
