It has been a while since I posted some images so I thought I would do so today. This area has a lot of Catawba Rhododendron. Apparently the climate is right for them. This year they are exceptionally nice. The weather apparently has been good for them.
#1 is our neighbor's, other side of our driveway.
#2 is in front of our house.
#3 is a closeup of three blossoms on our plant.
#4 is a closeup of two blossom clusters.
Note that the individual blossoms look very much like Azaleas. They are a close relative. Though they are at peak here in Hendersonville NC at about 2000 feet elevation, they will not reach peak for five or six more weeks up along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Roan Mountain State Park on the NC/TN border. On the parkway East of Asheville is Craggy Gardens, an area with a lot of these blossoms and a picnic area. There is also a visitor's center there.

Nice, ours have been blooming most of the week.

Well, Mayberry is not too far from Hendersonville. We need to get over that way for a visit this Summer.

First of all, read the rules. It is against them to post an image to someone else's gallery post without asking and receiving permission.
No big deal that you have done so, but some others might be less tolerant. Since you did post an image, I am posting my edit of it. You have nice depth of field and have caught a critter on the blossom, but to my taste you have way oversaturated the image. It no longer looks like the Rhododendron.

Thanks for the critique Did not know about the posting
Thanks
Chuck
Chuck,
No big deal. Some people do get bent out of shape, I found out before I knew about the rule :-(
The image I uploaded looks considerably darker than it did on my monitor.
