They are definitely worth more than my husband's camera  In defense of myself, the filters can be used on any lens, that I can get an adapter ring for, and will go up to 100mm. So, at least I can justify it by not having to purchase any more. :D Unless, of course, I break one.....
Because I shoot micro four thirds (Olympus and Panasonic) and Nikon DX and FX, I have filters of many sizes (37, 46, 52, 58, 62, 67, 72, 77, 86). Plus a set of Tiffen 3"x4" graduated filters. I have CPL, GND and a set of low ND filters for each size lens, plus some high ND filters in a few sizes with step-up rings. Total of 65 filters.
The big expense is the Nikon drop-in CPL filters (3), the Tiffen 3x4's, and the large CPLs. This accounts for ~$1500
Total estimated: ~~$2500-$3000

Most of my filters I bought used, for very little money. With a little patience, it isn't too hard to find second-hand, top name brand filters for a fraction of the price of new.
I have about 400 coffee filters. About $10.00 on Amazon.

While the battle, "to use, or not to use a filter", rages on...., what I want to know is how much CASH do you have invested in filters?!
I don't want to know WHAT you have, just how much you have spent.
Weather they are UV's, ND's, CPL's, glass protectors, screw-in, drop-in or holder mounted, I don't care!!
How many filters do you have and HOW much cash wrapped up!
C'mon, don't be afraid, this is NOT confrontational!
Me..., about 10 filters and about $250 total!

Rather than trying to figure out how much I've spent on filters, I'm trying to figure out just why in the world it would be anyone else's business!! (Well, I do have one idea, but some of my friends shoot Canon, so I won't mention it! ).
I have two CP filters, about $350 worth but, only have about $150 invested in them.

I only have 3 L lenses. Each one has a "clear" filter on it, about $125
I have about $1500 worth-was it worth it? You can probably pick up bits and pieces for a lot less but I now have a one manufacturer set. Adds a very interesting dimension but it ends up being closer to painting than photography!

8 filters, CP & ND 58mm, 67mm & 77mm, about £300.
For the "record", I'm guessing over a thousand but that includes analog days. Since digital probably about 200.
Sharp Shooter you asked that in a light hearted ways but I ask you, what was your reasoning to ask?
