I have been taking pictures since I received my first instamatic camera when I was 10 years old in 1968. I got my first SLR a Mamiya Sekor when I was 14 and my first autofocus SLR in 1987 (Canon 650). Over the years I have taken and given classes in photography and managed a camera store. I moved to digital in 1999 and digital SLRs with the Canon Digital Rebel. I have always believed my first photography instructor's credo that the photographer's eye is more important than the camera equipment. (He was 75 years old and I was 15.) Today, I shoot when I can which is not often enough.

Nice having you here!
As to your story...

I think I would much rather live in your area!
I like seeing so many photo enthusiasts that started with film. At least now that I'm in digital, I have other photographers that have had to make the same adjustments that I've had to.
