I tried this last year and got some different views. I tried panning at 1/320 SS for these. I was thinking maybe 1/1500 to 1/2000 SS to try and freeze the wing movement.

The higher shutter speed will help not only freeze the wing motion but also lessen the effect of camera shake as you pan with the bird. Small birds are tough. You did well here!
