This may sound like photo 101 to many, but I would like to know how I can tell how many times I have pushed the button to take photos on my Nikon D3100. Thanks for all replies in advance.
1-2-3-4... 10345-10346...

The Exif data attached to every Nikon image includes the shutter count. Any good Exif reader program will show it to you.
Exiftool by Phil Harvey is probably the best software there is for diddling with Exif data.
I tried the posted application with photos from my 2 Nikons and was unable get any info on shutter count.

Thanks Tom, that works like a charm!
shutter count for Nikon on Mac computer
1. Open the image using 'Preview'
2. Click 'Command' and 'I' keys together
3. In the window that opens up, click on the middle tab with the label '!'
4. Click on the 'Nikon' tab
5. The camera shutter count is number five on the list of items.

Should be simple, Bob. Just put all your keepers in a folder and read the number of items!
