Yes,.. "Understanding Exposure" always seems to enlighten!
I had the great fortune to take two field seminars from Bryan Peterson before he got famous and left Oregon. FWIW, I have an autographed book from him on photography in Oregon.

If you are mystified about flash techniques, his book UNDERSTANDING FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY is one to get !

I also have Bryan Peterson's "Understanding Flash Photography". I bought it after I took Bryan Peterson's seminar on flash photography at a photography expo. It got me much more interested in flash photography. There are techniques in the book that I really didn't know about.

I have read recommendations for his book on exposure many times on the hog. I recently read it and was very impressed. The book was very helpful in better understanding exposure and reasons why to use certain settings. Are any of his other books recommended. I am interested in any books that are particularly helpful with photography
Thanks
Joe
I also have his book on shutter and flash. I really like his writing/education style.

Here is my 2 cents worth. If you have one of the books already, go out and start shooting, shooting, shooting. I am self-taught, but I know the value of a good book to learn from, but you don't need a collection of them.
You will do yourself a greater service by practicing than reading about it. Trust me, been there, done that.
Begin with the techniques and advice as you work through the book that you already have. You will be glad you did because you will understand the techniques better from the mistakes you make along the way.

Seriously, Joe, could you be more vague? ;)
If you could narrow it down a bit more, as to what type of photography or what type of subjects you are interested in, it sure would help!
There are literally hundreds or even thousands of books about photography... Bryan Peterson has penned a few. But there also are some other great ones. For example, if your interest were macro photography, I'd point you toward John Shaw's "Close-ups In Nature", which is about as close to a "Bible" about macro photography as you'll ever see. I can think of several other excellent macro-photography-specific books.
You will find great books on all sorts of types of photography: wildlife, portraiture, architecture, travel, wedding, yada, yada, yada... And there are books covering technical aspects: camera guides, flash work, lenses & filters, post-processing, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. I also encourage getting "coffee table" books by some of your favorite photographers, to study their work and thought processes more closely, from an aesthetic angle and without the "technical" info cloud getting in the way.
Just narrow it down for us a bit.
We can probably give you much better advice, if you do.
I've read mixed reviews of his 'Understanding Exposure' book. A couple of weeks ago I was looking around on Amazon and was able to get a new paperback third edition for under $7.00 with shipping. So I figured why not. I've only read through the first couple of chapters, but I found it useful. So far it has covered the very basics, but there are a few things I picked up that I either for got about or chose to ignore many years ago.
