Large-flowered Trillium blossoms are dense in the woods this time of year.

Thanks.

Not much fragrance from these. Some other Trillium species have a fragrance like rotting meat to attract flies as pollinators.

How beautiful, Mike! I love the blooms with the background log. Such a contrast in textures.

Between the trillium and the dune flowers you posted just a short time ago I feel I'm back in northern Michigan again. Thanks for the memories Mike. Which part of Michigan are you from?

Thanks, Bob. I worked for years in Antrim county, now retired. Some of these shots are in Leelanau, Benzie and Emmet counties.

Thanks, Donna. That shot was taken with the SX50. Came out pretty nice.

Thanks, Sue. I shouldn't say this, but they are so prolific here that they seem commonplace and boring. I tried to find some in different and interesting settings this year, like the ones along that fallen log, or the blossom among the new Beech leaves, and the one that is partially lighted and partially in shadow after a rain shower.
