this is the time of year when i really miss michigan. the leaves, real apple cider, the beauty of the great lakes, big boy strawbeery pie or hot fudgee ice cream cake, jays potato chips. Interesting note about Jays. They were origionaly called Mrs Japps chips after the founder's wife i believe, but on December 8th 1941 had their name changed to jays for obvious reasons. saw that on the food network

You know, sinatraman, there is an awful lot of food involved in what you miss about Michigan! Personally, I'm not much on apple cider, strawberry pie, or potato chips, but the hot fudge sounds good.

I also miss traverse city in the summer, playing every adventure golf course back to back in what my friends annd i called the bob hope desert classic. I miss old tiger stadium, henry ford museum, sleeping bear dunes and doug murdochs house of fudge. had to drop another food reference.

Traverse City is a beautiful place; I lived there for several years when I was growing up. Played miniature golf there as well.

Love these pictures. Lived for 12 yrs in the UP (Marquette). Miss this time of year a lot. Not the winters though. (maybe for the scenery but not the cold.

Man-o-man...these are beautiful. The leaves are all turning here in NorthCentral Nebraska, but NOTHING like this! I have GOT to get there...one of these days.

When I grew up in California we never saw fall colors like this through the smog <cough, cough>. I feel blessed to be living in the country now and seeing all God's creations around me on a daily basis. There is definitely something to be said about country living!!!

BTW...like your website. Excellent.

Thanks for sharing your photos. Keep 'em comin'.

Where was the workshop held? I live in Gogebic county and would be interested in going to something like that.

Yooper: Thank you for the pictures of fall colors in the UP. I owned land up there a few years ago. It was close to Watersmeet. I haven't been up there in about six years. Your pictures make me want to go up there again.

Here's some fall colors along a pathway in what we call the "Tree Farm" here in Chico.

This weekend I will be riding the Harley through the Sierra Nevada mountains on a "Fall Colors" ride. Maybe I'll get a shot to post later.

Just a thought but with all that color and great reflections try breaking the rule of thirds. With that much interest on both sides place the horizion dead center up and down it increases the view and balances the shot. IMHO

I've been going to the wrong place! Instead of driving up into Wisconsin I should have gone the the up. The colors are gorgeous. If you're from Michicgan, the Lions are doing a number on my Bears tonight! :(
