Tulip tree flower? Close-up.
I saw a tree with flowers on it and I'm not sure if it was a tulip tree or something else. The brick on the house seemed to compliment the bloom so I took a close-up with the wall as a background.

Yes it is a variety of Magnolia. And this is a most beautiful shot of it. Thank you for sharing it Charles.
Very pretty!
To confuse the matter, there is a "tulip magnolia" :)

Thank you cmc65. They don't grow in my area.

Thank you Corolyn. It caught my eye and I thought it would make a nice close-up.

Thank you Linda. Whatever it is, I like it.
Beautiful shot. Love the intensity. The tulip trees on Long Island have yellow blossoms. They're coming on now.
To make matters even more confusing... Tulip Magnolias bear red to purple flowers, while tulip trees bear green to yellow flowers, BUT both are in the Magnolia Family!!!
Thank you taj334 and GBoy53 I guess its a Magnolia blossom.
Beautiful photo of a stunning Magnolia Soulangeana. They are one of the first flowering trees that bloom up here in Western Washington in the spring. They have finished their display for this year but we certainly enjoyed seeing them all over town.
