I am looking for a wide angle lens, landscape photography, no set budget.
I can find lenses but keep finding the APS optimized lenses, not really optimized for full frame, Sony does a piss poor job in advertising there A7
line of lenses, it's quite confusing, then add the third party manufacturers to it and its a jungle out there.
The A7II is so good that I ditched all my Canon gear to buy lenses for the A7, so I still look for a wide angle, I like to explore all lens manufacturers who have full frame optimized lenses, I find lenses but nobody seems to clearly specify what their lenses made for, APS or full frame.
I have to believe I am not the only owner of a A7II who has this issue, so please can somebody help me out here?

Unfortunately, the number of FE mount lenses is very limited. :(

The A7 series was designed however, to work with almost ALL other brands of lenses using the appropriate adaptor.

This enables you to use high quality Sony A mount lenses, as well as lenses from Canon and some Nikon glass. And of course, there are exceptionally excellent Zeiss lenses available for your camera too.

This was the Sony thinking with the A7 series; to attract people with other manufacturers cameras and lenses to a high quality, full-frame, small footprint, very reasonably priced camera.

All you need is an appropriate adaptor and your options for lenses are unlimited.

I use older 35mm lenses and adapters. 19 to 35 A-mount and LAEA4 adapter and Nikon f-mount and Fotodiox adapter. Both work great.
Find a lens you like and get an adapter.

Thats what I don't want, adapters, not a big fan of adapters.
Found some Zeiss full frame lenses in the meantime, got the first one yesterday, was worth the wait and added research.

TBH, I don't get your problem. A full frame wide angle lens is anything above 24mm and less than 35mm so you have the ..
Sony FE 28/2 or the Distagon FE 35/1.4
or
Zeiss Batis 25/2
or the manual focus Zeiss Loxia 35/2
or the manual focus Rokinon 24/1.4
If you prefer a zoom, there is the FE 24-70/4 ZA.

All these lenses are of pretty good quality so, as I said, I don't see your problem.

I wonder why? There's nothing wrong with a quality glassless adapter that lets you use your existing lenses on a fine camera.

Trey Ratcliff, who is a fanatic Sony convert, and arguably one of the most popular landscape photographers working right now, uses Sony's 10-18. It is a lens designed for the crop sensor, but, according to him, works great on the full frame Sony. He reports only slight vignetting at the 10mm setting.

I wouldn't choose to use a crop lens on FF, there's bound to be several downsides and in any case that's ultra wide angle and not what the OP requested.

If you do want an ultra wide zoom for the FF camera, Why not the FE 16-35/4 ZA OSS?

Some of the best FF wide angles useable on the the A7 will be manual focus and aperture.

I know what Sony had in mind, does not mean I have to like it, I owned many "L" lenses from Canon and Nikon, so you have already 2 adapters to deal with, something else who can break and get lost, then compare to the Zeiss lenses I ended up buying the mostly Canon I own are huge and much heavier, my main purpose to buy the A7 was to reduce size and weight and still be able to stay full frame with very high picture quality.
I finally found all the lenses I wanted, but it was not as simple as the lens selections you have available form let say Canon and Nikon.

Now I am confused... and I mean no disrespect... but if you knew in advance what you were getting yourself into buying the A7II, then you knew there were relatively few native lenses in the FE mount format. So having to buy 3rd party lenses to stay light and small should have been expected.

If you want to stay small, I recommend you look at the 15mm Voigtlander in Leica screw or M mount with adapter. You can even use a filter on it ! Look at other Leica or Voigtlander lenses for small size.
