Hi I've been following UH for about a year and browse the topics almost everyday, thanks for all the valuable info.
I have a Canon 7D with 24-70 2.8 that seems to be back focusing. Bought a Focus Pyramid that showed focus was out by
+20!. That's all the adjustment that is available by micro focus adjustment on the 7D. I just shot 60+ portraits for Mothers Day and over half were soft a few out of focus, these were shot on a tripod 1/125 @ 5.6-7.1 ISO 400, this becoming extremely frustrating and I'm at a loss as to what to do next,I would appreciate your suggestions. Attached is an example after sharpening.

Many folks don't read the introduction forum, so you might post this to main discussion forum, with descriptive title, if you don't receive a response here.
Hey Postman! Welcome to the forum. Please attach the original photo. There are plenty of very talented folks on the Hog that are always willing to mentor, teach & criticize (in a good way).
Enjoy the ride!

Once you have exhausted all your in-camera adjustment ability, it is time to ship both the camera and lens to Canon for repairs.
Welcome to the Forum Postman.

Agreed. After attempting to addust my 70-200 with the camera settings I had to send to cannon. The internal focus rings were bad. One week and $300 later the lens is fixed.
Here's a jpeg from the Raw file.

Welcome to the forum Postman. I can feel your pain, and being a rank amateur in photography, the whole hobby (for me at least) is very
expensive! :? Good luck on getting your settings right, or your gear up to standards.
