Horny Toad or Lizard? Waterfall & Petunias....

The lizard posed for about a minute for me. The waterfall was 50 feet from the Hyatt Riverwalk. The petunias were on my other recent post but the suggestion was made to have the focused ones in the front.

I don't know what kind of lizard it is, John, but I wish we had those here. He's a cutie, and I love your shot of him. Also beautiful work on the waterfall and petunias. On the petunias, I think this crop works much better. Very pretty.

Love the lizard. Love the Wood Sorrel leaves in that picture and the beautiful Gaillardia bloom, too.

Think you have a Texas Spiny Lizard, Sceloporus olivaceus. Can't see the blue-green patch on the side of the belly rather than a throat patch of similar species. Like the juxtaposition with the flower.

relbugman, I could only get within 3 feet of that guy. Thanks for your comment about the flower as positioned to the lizard. My first shot was not in parallel with the lizard because I was afraid he would be skittish but when he didn't move when I got within about 3 feet, I moved to the side to get both the lizard and flower near the same depth. I couldn't do anything about the green in the foreground though but it isn't too much of a distraction. John
