Whistler ducks are a small breed & are strange in that they do not seem to possess the ducks inherited love of water. I have seen thousands of these ducks on land, sometimes miles from water, but have never seen one on the water. Please download for better details.

Maybe they don't like getting their fancy feathers wet. Beautiful and interesting ducks, Earl. Love the shots.

M R some mighty fine ducks Earl! Sorry that ditty of my uncles play on using letters in place of words just popped into my head. Something like, Hey Joe Dare Day Go 1,000 Duks N a Row. No Mo Dim R Trux, Some with…… Can't remember what! :lol: I was a child at the time and he had it written down. Was real funny at the time.

They look very Art Deco.

Their more streamline profile reminds me a little of our native Wood ducks which spend considerable time and prefer to nest in the trees.

They look like a cross between a duck and turkey. The last pic really shows the coloring similarity
