…………………...THERE WAS THE RADIO.

This is intended for all you old "Radio People"
If you don't remember these, you're too young!

I remember many of these but not all. Some I never heard of, much less listened to.

For those of you old enough to remember, here's a chance to listen to some of your favorite
shows before there was TV.
For those of you who are not old enough, here's a chance to hear what you missed.

This is a VERY small example of what was on the radio.

Find your favorite, click on it, turn on your sound, and listen to all the episodes. Enjoy!

My favourites were "Amos 'N' Andy" and "Sergeant Preston of the Yukon" On a hot August night the sound of the winds of the Yukon made the temperature more bearable. "On, King!"

What a great trip down memory lane. It reminds me how old I am.
I would sit in front of the radio and listen to The Shadow. Who knows; The Shadow knows. I would be scared to death. When my dad would get up and leave I would be right behind him. Who was it that had the closet full of stuff and when they opened it there would be a long sound bite of stuff falling out of it? I can't remember if that was Fibber McGee and Molly or The Great Gildersleeve.

The Great Gildersleeve, Fiber Magee & Molly plus several others were still on Armed Forces Radio Network in the early 70's.

Crap. I am older than dirt. I remember 'em all, except for these three, didn't have British Shows 1 and 2 in Western Kansas, nor did we listen to soap operas, although my grandmother was addicted to one.

When I was a little boy, we had a TV, and a couple channels, and I remember a lot of times, the TV would get turned off, and the radio got turned on.

Where's Bob Burns, The Arkansas Traveler, the inventor of the Bazooka?
He was my favorite, especially all his relatives.
