I'm attending an Autumn color photography workshop here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and in honor of Fall, I thought I would post several images from my workshop. I would love to see examples of Fall color from other areas of the country or right here in Michigan. Please share yours as well. I won't have much free time over the next several days, but I will check back as I can.

Hi Yooper. I'm traveling to Traverse City and surrounding areas this week for all the Fall color tours. Hope to post many photos. The colors in northern Michigan will peak this week. It is a photographer's Heaven.

Try for more separation between foreground and background.
I divided the photo on the shoreline and changed the values in the upper half only for a more dramatic effect.

Thank you, DB. I've missed being part of UH, and didn't want to wait until I was home, so I thought I would post these now.

Thank you for the feed back. These were processed quickly on my laptop, which is not calibrated and not the best for editing, but I won't be home until later this week and chose not to wait.

hey yooper had not heard from you in a little while. I do miss the Michigan change of colors but not the Michigan winter negative wind chill factor. We dont have any real color change down here in gator land. we only have 2 seasons summer and hurricaine. Floridians have no clue what trees other than palm and pine look like. post more leave shots to make me homesick. Now if i could only figure out how you couls send me a Big Boy strawberry pie. 8-) :-D

They are both lovely. Remember that the best light is at sunrise and sunset. Post some from your trip when you can.

Hi sinatraman, I'm away from home on a 10-day Autumn color photography workshop, and have been leaving well before daylight and getting back for a mid-day nap, and then heading out for a long evening, and haven't had a lot of free time. Sometimes the good comes with some bad, and the trade-off of cold versus color is worth it for me. Maybe I will have some time when I get home later this week. I'm afraid the best I could do is send you a picture of a pie, but that wouldn't be fair.

this is the time of year when i really miss michigan. the leaves, real apple cider, the beauty of the great lakes, big boy strawbeery pie or hot fudgee ice cream cake, jays potato chips. Interesting note about Jays. They were origionaly called Mrs Japps chips after the founder's wife i believe, but on December 8th 1941 had their name changed to jays for obvious reasons. saw that on the food network

Thank you. Marquette is a beautiful area. I have sled dogs, so being outside in the winter is a given, and I've gotten used to it, but I know it isn't for everybody (of which I am very thankful).
