Sony A6000 lens question
I have an A7R and some A and E mount lenses. I would like to get an A6000 for backup and travel.
Am I better off with just the body or would it be better to buy the A6000 with the kit lens? I have read mixed reviews on the kit lens and so am looking for input from 'real' users.
My understanding is that an A7000 is coming soon which may well drop the price of the A6000.
Thanks,
Ron
The 16-50 is OK, not great, the 55-210 does a really good job. The Sigma 19 and 30 DN lenses make a great combo with the 55-210. You will like the 6000 I find myself leaving my DS
LR's home and just using the 6000.
A lot of good videos on 6000 on youtube.
On theSony A 6000 . I use the sony G pro lens 28-105 f4, the zeiss 24 f1.8, and the sony 50-f1.8 . I like others feel the kit lens is not up to par. I believe sony is planning a replacement most likely when the A 7000 comes out.

Just as I am concluding that my A6000 is the ultimate camera that will satisfy my every wish for the rest of my life, comes talk of an A7000. Damn progress.
New model not always better. I have the sony rx100/2. The 3 came out and lost the hot shoe and changed the lens in my view not a good change. Now they did install an evf but I use this camera as a grab shot and the tilting screen does the job
At present, the most bang for the buck for A6000 = Sigma 19,30,60mm f2.8.

The A6000 is a pretty good camera. It feels a little cheap and the position of the SD card slot is a pain but, with the 16-50 and 55-210 lenses it is something of a best buy.
The 16-50 is okay and extends out as soon as you switch on the camera. The 55-210 is very good and I have used it on my Sony A7 (full frame)and am pleased. The 16-50 works fairly well on the 6000 and I'd be inclined to pay slightly more and get the two lenses with the camera.
The A7000 is due out this year and the price of the A6000 with two lens kit will fall....but even now it probably the best bang for the bucks camera on the market!
Anyone have any inside info on the new HX 90 Sony?
think about the 3 Sigma lenses available at a very reasonable price, and wait. Zeiss are bringing out new lenses in July (already announced) and more will follow. yea really just need the Sigma 60mm right now for a trip lensthat will give you a better pic than the 16-50 Sony.

I believe it will be a similar size to the Sony RX100m3 but with an optical 30 times zoom.
Downside is the F stop is 3.5 onwards as you zoom.
Due out in next month or so. This came from a lady in my local camera shop. Unless you need the zoom the RX100 will probably be better with the faster glass.
The Sony 16-50 lens does work fairly well,
The Sony 55-210 lens also work well.
Both lenses usually are sold in a bundle, that was the way I purchased them also.
I have also used a Canon 50mm 1.4 lens with an adapter that worked well.
I also adapted a Minolta MD 45 mm F/2 lens, (of course no auto focus)
You should have good luck with the 16-50 & the 55-210 great for a back up and light load
