Just wait until you realize you have hair on your arm and the lawn has grass blades and not just green paint. Heal up and enjoy.

I get the other eye done next Wed. The thing I loved about this one was the Dr. covered the eye with a see thru clear plastic cover. I could look at something with the Cataract (left) eye and compare with the completed surgery eye. I've never seen blues so blue and the whites so white. I feel like a kid with a new bike.
Yes I see double when looking at birds flying or the moon. But moreso when tired. My Dr. indicated this was Astigmatism and hardly worth going after, which means no insurance coverage.
Good luck Bullfrogs

Seeing double.
I had both eyes done five moths ago. I frequently see double. Two stop signs, two cars. Where there is only one, etc. I t will last from a few minutes to hours. Other than appearing. when I wake up I see no pattern to it.
The eye surgeon seemed disinterested.
I do have improved sight. Colors are brighter.
Is any one else experiencing this?
I have had the surgery on both eyes five moths ago. I also found the colors brighter.
Whatever the drawbacks were to my surgery were immaterial after I discovered that trees had individual leaves! Dr. told me that since the lenses were plastic, I would never have a re-occurrence, and that my vision would not change again. Twenty years later, I still have the same vision.

I think you are confusing astigmatism with a new type of lens that acts like bifocals. I think it has problems worth considering before using them.
The regular trans plant lens should correct for astigmatism.
The procedure is amasing. I walk out the door with no discomfort and excellent (bright) vision.
First, I am a retired physician who has had cataract surgery and had long discussions with my surgeon before going ahead.
The implants that are supposed to correct for astigmatism will come close but cannot be guaranteed to get you to 20/20. I wanted to see 20/15 so I still opted for corrective lenses (aka glasses which I feel naked without after 60 years of wearing them. They also offer some eye protection as witnessed by my damaged lenses after a wind event while on Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley).
Second, my surgeon really pushed against getting lenses with one for near vision correction in one eye and one for far vision in the other eye. She stated that she sees quite a few patients from elsewhere who are very dissatisfied with their original decision which was pushed by their original eye surgeon.
Third, the basic cataract lens does
not have the astigmatism correction. This is an extra charge not paid for my Medicare. There is also a minimal amount of astigmatism that is needed to even be able to order the lens with a cylinder (the term for astigmatism correction).

Congrats on your great results. I had both eyes done about a month ago. I had very little astigmatism so I could go with the multifocal lenses. I'm now typing and reading this on my smart phone without reading glasses. I couldn't be happier. My vision now tests at 20-15, almost 20-10.
I think I'll buy some new good sunglasses to celebrate. I'm leaning toward Ray Bans since I want real glass for scratch resistance and non polarized so I can see the view screen on the back of the camera.
Congrats, this came at the right time. I have an appointment on Monday for the pre surgery consultation for both eyes plus I have to choose of a standard lens (covered by insurance) and two premium lenses, one is $1100 the other is over $2000. If I do not have to wear glasses I guess it is worth the $2000. I also see double close up (just started two weeks ago), I went to the Ophthalmologist and he said it is a Thyroid problem and has nothing to do with the cataracts and can proceed with the surgery and will treat the Thyroid with medication after a CT scan.

My choice before surgery was near or far sighted. Because of my photography, golfing, shooting, bowling I picked the far sighted choice. I'll need glasses for reading.

I opted for the standard lens for the insurance coverage and did just fine. Eyesight is 20-15 and I use reading glasses only for some very small print. Save the 2 grand any buy another camera lens. I am 81 and had the surgery over a year ago.
Thank you both for the input, I'll be doing some research this weekend. Thanks again

I would like to add my Thanks to all who commented and described their experiences here.
My eye doctor has quoted $5000 over the insurance (Medicare and Tricare) to do my eyes 'properly'. I just don't see that happening so thanks all for sharing your stories.

It was our great pleasure.

I might add one thing: I understand this surgery has like one of the highest success rates possible, so you can relax going in. I had like zero discomfort during and after the procedure. The first eye, I remember seeing a bright light on the operating table. It lasted for what seemed like 10 seconds and the next thing I know they are helping me off the table into a wheelchair. The second eye, seemed like it took about a minute. Maybe my doctor was just super fast, lol.
Good luck and happy visions.
