Now we don't have any art departments at any college so I will just have to skip this idea. I might try one last thing..A tee shirt saying I am looking for nude models.

An effective way of looking at any question is to reverse the question. "I am a woman in my 20's and have a wonderful figure and by the time I am 50 age will make that a memory. I need an experienced photographer to preserve what will be a memory." aaaaha, now you Scubie, an experienced photographer become the object of their need.

------"Fine Figure Fotographer"-------
"Preserve Your Figure Before It Fades"
------"Discrete and Confidential"------
wonderful idea
Now Scubie, you have one model telling another potential. You can have a list of effective poses and work out your lighting and do your photography by the numbers. If you plan on a book then you give a special cost reduction.

Alas Scubie, I can imagine all those hairy foot ball players lined up outside your studio door!!! One need to be very specific what you wish for. Learn about wishing from Twilight Zone... The man in the bottle... grants 4 wishes...

I have been in professional photography for 40 years and I have seen some books on nude photography. Some like The Voice Within, for example. The photographer used his wife and all the shots were tasteful and had good taste and class. I have thought about this but have no idea where to obtain a model. Has anyone ever done this successfully.

I have been shooting nudes for about 25 years. I usually run ads in college newspapers. I never use the word "nude" in the ad.
It will say something like "Local photographer is looking for models. Height and weight in proportion. Dancers and
gymnasts and athletes are welcome. Must be over 18 years old". If you are not near any colleges you can run the same ad in newspapers.

If you get just one student and treat her right...she has friends who might be interested. I got one gal this way and, we have been working with for 3 years...
I still photograph her and we have also become good friends. She graduated college and invited me to her graduation and I went.

Most college kids can use a little extra money and I always pay them, but that is up to you.

I always put my phone number in the ad as I would rather they call me than e mail me.

There are many gals who would love to pose nude. There are 100's in each state and 1000's all over the country (no kidding)
They are basically looking for 2 things... a place to go...someone to trust. And making a little extra money doesn't hurt either. They will travel 25 to 50 miles for a shoot and a pro model will travel further than that.

I have a gallery on Deviant Art...

I'd be interested in knowing how it goes for you,

Thank you rich..that is great advice. I actually started shooting a gorgeous model 35 years ago. She only did clothing shoots but we are still friends after 35 years. She calls me all the time and is like the sister I never had. Thanks.

That's funny. I've never had to ask a woman to model nude for me. They've always asked me to photograph them. The first time was in college - oh so many years ago. My girlfriend and I were walking up to a lookout point at Patrick's Point State Park in northern California. About halfway up, she asked, "Would you like to photograph me nude?" Without batting an eye, I replied, "I'd really rather keep my clothes on."
At which point she hit me in the back, (I was in front of her), and said, "You know what I mean."
I photographed her, and later, when she showed the pictures to her roommates, 2 of them wanted me to photograph them nude also.
Anyway, over the years, I've never asked a woman to pose nude...they've always volunteered.
Somebody mentioned the Art Dept at a college. Good place to start. I remember my first figure drawing class at college. We also got a couple of girls to nude model in my beginning photography class at college. Again, so many years ago. (I graduated college 1970).
Good days, good times, good memories.

There have been threads here talking about having a nude section here in UHH (similar to the way there is in 500PX)....some people are for it saying it is a valid art form-- some people appear offended by it. I personally have no problem with it, but basically side with not offending people on here.

If someone is offended by it the answer is simple...Don't Look!!!

I totally agree. I have been fascinated with Boudoir Photography, and see it as just another form of art. Just take a look at the ancient civilizations, look at all the paintings and sculptures!!!
