I presently use a Canon 7D and am thinking of buying new equipment. My daughter works for the Dodgers and she uses Nikon which she swears by.
1. The question is, which is better for general all around use, Canon or Nikon?
2. Does full frame give you better resolution?

Nikon....everybody knows that ! :XD:
It makes no difference. Whatever feels best is the one for you.I use Nikon, but if someone that works for the Dodgers uses them, maybe I should switch. Think that I will go with Sony. They make most of the sensors for Nikon anyway.

1. It doesn't matter much.
2. Resolution is counted in megapixels. cameras with higher megapixels provide higher resolution. Image quality will be better on a full frame because to get to the same size image you magnify the image less, and if the pixel count is the same and the cameras are of the same generation, the full frame camera usually has better high ISO performance (less noise).
Hope that makes sense.

SHE might use Nikon, but working for the Dodgers hardly makes her an expert on the subject. Two-thirds to three-quarters of professional sports and wildlife photogs use Canon, but does this make it better for YOUR needs, and for YOUR shooting style? Not necessarily! The Olympus E-P5 might be ideal for you, or the Sony A77ii, or the Fujifilm X-A. I bet if you get the new 7DMkii and let her use it for a day, you'd change her mind (unless she uses a D4S, then you'd have to get the mighty 1DX to trump her machine). Good luck in deciding which is better for you! :D

The best and most expensive piece of equipment you will ever own to do photography with is your eye. Learn to use it, look for pictures all the time, with and without a camera. Take a class, read books about photography, live photography. Any equipment you buy is just an extention of your eye. Learn to shot first, equipment will follow.

Thanks Douglass for saving us all a lot of time and energy!

Just a small point. The majority of people working for the Dodgers are not professional photographers. The OP never said she was a photographer for the Dodgers. Just that she works for them. She could sell tickets at a booth.
My photography professor was the team photographer for the Dallas Cowboys for 10 years. He shoots Canon.
Are the Cowboys better than the Dodgers??? Only you can decide.

Its obvious from past posts from this character that he has some kind of psychiatric disorder and needs treatment.
